Public Transit - Heartland Express

Responsibilities


The Heartland Express is responsible for providing clean, on-time, reliable, safe, and efficient service. The Heartland Express is not responsible for items left on its vehicles. We are responsible for enforcing this service policy.

The Chisago-Isanti County Heartland Express abides by all applicable federal, state and local regulations, and maintains an alcohol and drug-free workplace.

For safety reasons persons using a 3-wheel electric cart or (lark type chairs) will be requested to transfer to a bus seat. All wheelchairs have to fit on the bus lift properly.

The Chisago-Isanti County Heartland Express reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who violates any of the standards.

Service


The Chisago-Isanti County Heartland Express is a public transportation service, which operates within the county borders. Both Chisago and Isanti counties are committed to providing safe, cost-effective transit service to anyone in either county who requests it. All vehicles are handicapped accessible.

We provide curb-to-curb service. Most passengers can request and be provided same day service, but reservations should be made by noon the working day before. The only limitations are to time constraints in scheduling and/or buses on route at any given time.

Civil Rights


Chisago-Isanti County Heartland Express operates its programs without regard to race, color, and national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Any person who believes he or she has been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI may file a complaint with Chisago-Isanti County Heartland Express by reviewing and completing the Chisago-Isanti County Heartland Express Title VI Complaint Procedure & Form.
 

Non-Discrimination Policy


Chisago-Isanti County Heartland Express will not discriminate against any individual. There is no restriction, such as income, required to use this transportation service. Chisago-Isanti County Heartland Express is committed to ensuring that no person, regardless of age, race, color, sex, national origin, disability and/or sexual orientation is excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination in any of its programs, services or benefits. Hearing and seeing-eye dogs are allowed on the vehicles and we ask other passengers not to touch or speak to the dogs. Any person who believes he or she has been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) may file a complaint with Chisago-Isanti County Heartland Express by reviewing and completing the Chisago-Isanti County Heartland Express ADA and Non-Discrimination Complaint Form.
