Chisago County is seeking quotes from qualified contractors to provide in-county collection and proper recycling of household appliances, tires, electronics, and mattresses from Chisago County residents for the calendar year 2019. Contractors will verify county residency and collect a fee (the approved bid amount – less the County subsidy) for items collected, and submit this information in monthly reports. Contractors must also submit information on total tonnage recycled, how and where items are ultimately processed, and have a current Chisago County Solid Waste License with insurance and bonding. The qualified recycling contractor must operate in compliance with the County’s Solid Waste Ordinance and all other local, State, and Federal ordinances, guidelines, statutes, and rules and regulations.
For quotes, please complete the RFQ/Bid Worksheet by identifying the price that you need to recycle an item (Bid Amount), also noting the final fee to the resident after subtracting the County subsidy. Contractor must agree to the use of coupons for which they will be reimbursed. An additional incentive payment will be made to current Recyclers for an increase in the number of residential visits over the previous year’s visits. Recycling contractors will be selected based on their affordability and location within the County. The County reserves the right to refuse any and all proposals. The RFQ/Bid Worksheets are due back by Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. to: Chase Burnham, Chisago County Government Center, 313 North Main Street, Room 175, Center City, Minnesota 55012.
The RFQ documents are available below or by contacting Lisa Thibodeau, Chisago County Solid Waste Administrator at 651-213-8923 or via email.
